New Street Direction & Name Signs

Street Name Sign

We have now started to manufacture street direction and street name signs.

They are made using our Metro-Wood environment friendly material along with engraved name plates and signs to create these new products.

Metrolite success

Well done to John Derbyshire who successfully passed his entry Level 3 Literacy exam. John works at Metrolite and is on the Workstep programme which is designed to help people with disabilities find suitable employment.

John has a learning disability and last year was tested and diagnosed as being 'at risk' of having dyslexia. After attending weekly literacy classes John took his exam in December 2006.

It’s a Wigan workshop that’s famous for breaking down barriers. But in recent weeks Wigan Council-backed Metrolite Industries has been more concerned with putting barriers up – in the shape of thousands of fence panels.

Craftsmen at the Ince workshop are currently knocking out up to 100 panels a day to cope with ever-increasing demand. The team at the Warrington Road factory believe the surge in demand began following the high winds earlier in the year.
