We are now accredited with Secured By Design on all our PVCu Windows. Established in 1989, Secured by Design (SBD) is owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and is the corporate title for a group of national police projects focusing on the design and security for new & refurbished homes, commercial premises and car parks as well as the acknowledgement of quality security products and crime prevention projects. |
Street Names & Direction Signs
We have now started to manufacture street direction and street name signs.
They are made using our Metro-Wood environment friendly material along with engraved name plates and signs to create these new products. |
Metrolite success
Well done to John Derbyshire who successfully passed his entry Level 3 Literacy exam. John works at Metrolite and is on the Workstep programme which is designed to help people with disabilities find suitable employment.
This is one of the many achievements gained by the employees of Metrolite which include numeracy, literacy and NVQ's.

Metrolite gives cause for 'A Fence'
It's a Wigan workshop that's famous for breaking down barriers. But in recent weeks Wigan Council-backed Metrolite Industries has been more concerned with putting barriers up - in the shape of thousands of fence panels.
Craftsmen at the Ince workshop are currently knocking out up to 100 panels a day to cope with ever-increasing demand.
The team at the Warrington Road factory believe the surge in demand began following the high winds earlier in the year.

David Bellamy Visits Three Sisters
The recent visit to the Three Sisters recreational area by renowned TV conservationist and wildlife expert Professor David Bellamy was a great success for the borough, seen here seated at one of Metrolite's Environment Friendly Picnic Tables.
